Main Pages

PROBLEMS:

My first site ever was on AOL many years ago  and many of the bigger versions of pictures were left there simply because it was easier not to move them. NOW AOL files are no longer available and I am rebuiding EVERY page at this site.

Following is a log of my new pages as I make them available:

2009-January Wales
Travel Tips
2009-March Serendipity

WELCOME!

January 2009
Rebuilding site - see notes to the left.

March 2008
3-24-2008: Initial content has been loaded to my Belgium page, but links to larger versions of the pictures are not ready yet.

Links to "Web albums" for 2007 "Great Rivers of Europe" and 2005 "Norwegian Trønderlag tour" added to entry page.

"Under Construction" pages added for Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and England; in preparation for loading content.

July 2007
Preparing the site for new countries, not much new content.

March 2007
A few changes to Maui and general "clean up"

December 2006.   Norway is finally started with a link to my web album of the 2005 Trønderlag of America Heritage Tour.

April 2006: Austria is COMPLETELY RE-DONE!  You can also now click on each picture to view a larger picture.

EVERYTHING is finally moving to the new server.

If you link directly to the larger version any of my photographs, note that they will all be removed from the old server.  The files will all eventually be stored at:
www.satrum.net/travelpics/<location name>/<file name>.

This new version of my web site keeps most of the old photographs and adds some new ones.  Across time, larger versions of photos will be replaced with 640x480 (Horizontal pictures) or 480X360 (Vertical pictures).  Some may be other sizes as appropriate.

At the same time, I am starting to add comments to the pages, to personalize the location of our trip.  Sometimes it may be an impression, at other times it may be comments about people who were memorable or particularly helpful.  An example is a nice elderly woman in Austria, who spoke no English, but made absolutely sure we knew which train to get on (we must have looked lost).  A variation on this is my new "Serendipity" page, that is just getting started.

I have also added a "Travel Tips" page.  Many sites have these, so I am not sure if I will keep this up unless I feel I am adding something of worth.  But for now, I will continue to make some entries.

The  format of my new site is somewhat different but many of the features of my old site are here.
