My France page is under construction.  (July 2009).

These pictures come from two trips over a total of about 6 weeks (4 of which included sailing on rivers in  Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, and Switzerland).

A partial set of pictures from the 2007 trip can be viewed by <CLICKING HERE>

Near the end of 2 weeks on the Rhine and Mosel rivers we journeyed between Germany and France with stops in Strasbourg and a bus tour into the Alsace.

STRASBOURG
Our river ship docked across the street from the offices of the French Foreign Legion.  A short bus trip took us to the center of Strasbourg. Our first day in Strasbourg was very rainy and our pictures show it.  When we went on a canal boat ride, we were lucky to have a plexiglass cover and were able to take some pictures.  The next day on our return, the sun cooperated and we were able to better appreciate the cathedral and the rest of the city.

Our journey through the the small villages of the Asace and its wine country was beatiful.  One of our stops was at a stork sanctuary where they were trying to re-introduce the birds into the area.
